Tucker County Volleyball Host Tri-Match at TCHS

LOST CREEK – The Tucker County Girls’ Volleyball team traveled to South Harrison for single game contest with the Lady Hawks on Wednesday September 18th. In a single game matchup play the two teams play a best of 5 set match. This means the team that wins 3 sets gets the win.

South Harrison started the first set with a 23-0 run to give the first set to the Lady Hawks 25-1. The home team continued to dominate in the second set as they captured the second set by the score of 25-8. Tucker County rebounded with a 25-22 win in the third set. South Harrison then ended the match with a fourth set score of 25-8.

HAMBLETON – The Lady Mt. Lions hosted a Tri-Match at TCHS with Moorefield and Union on Thursday September 19th.

In the first match of the night Tucker County took to the court against Moorefield. Moorefield won the first set 25-6. In the second set Moorefield would dominate the set with a 25-7 score to give Moorefield the victory over Tucker County.

Moorefield then played a match against Union in the next contest. The Lady Yellowjackets got the victory over Union in 2 sets 25-10 and 25-11.

The last contest of the night would be the Lady Mt. Lions against Union. In the first set Tucker County got out to an early 10-3 lead to force a Union timeout. The Lady Tigers then responded with a 12-2 run to force a timeout from Tucker County as the Lady Mt. Lions held a slim 15-12 lead. Union then tied the game at 15-15. The set was back and forth the rest of the way as Union took the set by the score of 25-22. In the second set both teams battled as the set featured 6 ties with the score reading 8-8. Union built a 11-8 lead to force a Tucker County timeout. A Lady Tigers 9-3 run gave the visiting team a 20-11 advantage late in the set. The Lady Mt. Lions responded with a 5-1 run to cut the Union lead to 21-16. The Lady Tigers then fought back as they built a 24-16 score. Tucker County tried to mount a comeback, but Union won the set by the score 25-20 to give the Lady Tigers the match win over Tucker County.

Tucker County will return to action on Thursday September 26th at Trinity in a Tri-Match with South Harrison at 5:30pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
