Tucker County Girls’ Run By East Hardy And Bishop-Walsh



HAMBLETON – The Lady Mt. Lions hosted PVC foe East Hardy for a Varsity only contest last Wednesday January 2nd. Tucker County raced out to an early lead and coasted to a 57-20 win.

The Lady Mt. Lions exploded to a 12-0 lead to start the game and led after one quarter by the score of 16-6. Tucker County extended the lead in the second as they outscored the Lady Cougars 16-4 to make the score 32-10 Tucker County at the half.

The Lady Mt. Lions defense then held East Hardy to just 2 third quarter points as they outpaced the visiting team 9-2 in the third to lead 41-12 after three quarters. Tucker County then finished the game in the fourth quarter with a 16-8 advantage to take the victory by the final score of 57-20.

Tucker County was led in scoring by Riley Evans with 17 points and Kelcee James added 9 points for the Lady Mt. Lions. McKinley Murphy had 8 points and Terra Kuhn connected with 7 points for Tucker County. Kuhn led Tucker County on the boards with 11 rebounds while James and Murphy collected 5 steals each in the contest for the Lady Mt. Lions.

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Tucker County Girls’ team traveled to Bishop-Walsh on Saturday January 5th for a Varsity only contest with the Lady Spartans. The Lady Mt. Lions jumped out to a lead in the first and picked up the road victory by the final score of 73-54.

The first quarter seen Tucker County in front from the start as they lead after one 14-10. The Lady Mt. Lions then turned up the offense as they outscored the host Bishop-Walsh 21-11 in the second quarter to make the halftime score 35-21 Tucker County.

Bishop-Walsh fought back early in the third, but a late rally from the Tucker County bench players gave the Lady Mt. Lions a 54-42 lead after three quarters of play. The fourth quarter belonged to Tucker County as they picked up the pace again on offense as they scored 19 points compared to the Lady Spartans 13 points to push the final score to 73-54 Tucker County.

McKinley Murphy led Tucker County in scoring with 19 points and dished out 4 assists. Terra Kuhn added 15 points, 5 steals and Riley Evans netted 13 points, 4 assists for the Lady Mt. Lions in the win. London Hood also contributed 6 points, 7 assists, 4 steals for Tucker County.

Tucker County(7-2) will host Frankfort tonight January 9th with the JV contest set to start at 5:45pm and then the Lady Mt. Lions will entertain Parkersburg Catholic at 12pm on Saturday January 12th. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
