Momma Said

I have worked hard this past weekend. I pressure washed the outside of my house and cleaned inside. Just hauling the hose and washer around about got the best of me. I had to cut down all my hostas and I put all my wind chimes away. I used to be able to work all day now it is hard for me to do much of anything. My hands are stiff and everything hurts. I have been helping my brother do some work at his house building fence for his dog yard. I am going to go back and help him build the gates. Momma Said, “Helping others helps yourself.” He has been helping me with hardwood flooring so the work is a trade off.

I try to help all my siblings as much as I can but it is getting harder all the time. I will do my best as long as I can. Teri Said,”I want my mommy!!!” I miss having her to talk to. I am writing this edition on the 19th anniversary of her death. It just doesn’t seem to be that long. I never thought that she would be gone at this time in my life. I wish she could be here to talk to and share my life with her. Momma Said, “Gone but not forgotten.”

She will be with me always. I can still see her with her pink curlers in her hair working away on something. She never sat down for long, there was always another job to be done. She could do more in a few hours than most people could do in a day. And she was a helper too. She was always doing something for someone. I try to pay respect to her by trying to do anything I can to help out. Momma Said, “Do unto others as you would have done to you.”
