Local Seniors learn to love their heart

Local senior residents gathered the end of February to learn more about taking care of their health during the ‘Love Your Heart’ program, sponsored by the Tucker County Health Department, Davis Medical Center and the Tucker County WVU Extension Service. Those in attendance had the opportunity to have a blood glucose test, a blood pressure reading and weight check before sharing healthy snacks, yoga and door prizes. Mindy Parsons, Clinical Charge Nurse at the Cardiac Rehab Center in Davis Medical Center spoke with attendees about the risk factors for heart disease and the ways to prevent them.

4-H members lend a helping hand

All 4-H members take a pledge to use their heads, hearts, hands and health for service to their communities and on Saturday, February 18, local 4-Hers rolled up their sleeves and lent a hand to two local organizations needing a helping hand.
